Just out of interest!
JKR: “I’ll probably leave some loose ends hanging.” [JKR, RCMH1, 2006 – Madam Scoop’s Index]
Concerning cats…
- Is there something more to the cats appearing in the books than first meets the eye? (I.e. Mrs. Figg’s cats, Crookshanks, Prof. McGonagall as a cat, etc.) JKR: Ooooo, another good question. Let’s see what I can tell you without giving anything away … erm … no, can’t do it, sorry. [JKR, Scholastic chat #2, 2000 – Madam Scoop’s Index]
- Harry has never used the Internet because he gets beaten up if he goes too close to Dudley’s keyboard. But wizards don’t need the Internet; they have something more fun to find out what goes on in the outside world. [JKR, Raincoast Books interview, 2001] Might this be where the cats fit in? Mrs. Figg seems to run some kind of feline spy network.
Concerning Cho…
- ‘The exception was Cho Chang, who darted into her compartment when she saw Harry coming.’ (HBP7) JKR has said that Harry’s romance with Cho was never going to last and she is irrelevant to the plot of Book 6. However, as she was a fairly developed character in Books 4 and 5, we are entitled to ask what will become of her in Book 7 (when she will have left school). Will Harry’s first love be another casualty of Lord Voldemort or will she survive?
Concerning Metamorphmagi…
- Tonks is a Metamorphmagus, meaning that she has the ability to change her appearance at will. We learn in OOtP3 that ‘Metamorphmagi are really rare, they’re born, not made.’ This ability, however, hasn’t been of much significance so far in the series, unless you can count Tonks temporarily losing her powers in HBP. I have already suggested a role for Tonks in DH as a replacement spy for the Order. However, I wonder if there are Metamorphmagi on the Dark side as well. In particular, I have my eye on the big blond Death Eater (identified only by his appeareance) who took part in the Battle of Hogwarts at the end of HBP.
Concerning the Diggorys…
- In view of Voldemort’s tendency to exploit human weakness, Amos Diggory (Ministry employee) maddened by grief for his only son, would not be an improbable traitor.

More to come, in time…
I really enjoyed reading everything you have put on your website. I think your arguments are well thought out and actually plausible. I too tend to analyze everything Harry Potter to death. I really enjoyed how you explained how Harry survived as a baby by means of time travel , although I really hope that you are wrong about Harry not making it at the end.
hi I looved everything on this website and it really intrigues me. I’d like you to email me if you get any more info. I was wondering, if all this is theory’s, though. Is it all real? It seems like you are so sure! Thank you!
what will happen to this website after book 7 is published? it rocks, but the risk is that everything will be wrong. sorry. it’s obvious that it won’t be perfectly exact, but I still like it. thanks for taking the time.
I always had this strange disconnected theory that Tonks being a Metamorphagus was like a curse. An ancient sortof curse that the Blacks set decades before in the attempt to keep the race pure, so when Andromeda married Ted the full-on Muggleborn and had a halfblood, she became “less” than a person. At least, less than a person from the Black’s perspective.
I’ve kindof fallen off that now, just thought I’d share.
Ooh, that’s an interesting thought … thanks for sharing. Being a Metamorphmagus would seem to have benefits though … I wonder what sort of role Tonks will have in Book 7? I do hope her clumsiness won’t get her into trouble … seem to remember she “Nearly failed on Stealth and Tracking” while training to be an Auror?
Not to worry about this site – I am really not bothered about being “wrong” (since I never claimed to be “right”) – the aim was to be creative and plausible and to enjoy it! But of course it will be a bonus if I’ve managed to anticipate any plot developments in DH. And the site will still be here in future to discuss the real book 7 – though you won’t be able to post comments for a little while, allowing us all time to read the book!
